Drawings

Ink, graphite and mixed media drawings on Mitsumata paper (Washi) reference the natural world, and include accidental and gestural marks. Each drawing begins as a frottage: scrubbing a graphite stick across a sheet of paper resting against a large field stone. In the studio I draw into the frottage with ink, sometimes adding watercolor and collage.
